The United States of America is the topmost preference for many working professionals, students, families, etc., to get settled there or travel to explore the continent. Before this, everyone wondered about how they could get a visa to the US, either a tourist visa, study visa, etc. This discussion can be an ace for you if you observe the discussion carefully as there are some procedures you need to follow as mentioned in the given sections. Please have a look:

Consider the Procedures as Highlighted in the Given sections:

Procedure 1: VERIFY the Passport.

The first and foremost thing you need to ensure that your passport is valid to travel to the United States. However, there are some more aspects associated with it; please take note of the following points;

  • Your passport must be valued for at least 6 months beyond your period of stay in the US.
  • However, if it is not updated, then it is required to get a new passport before you request a visa.

Procedure 2: Fill out the Visa Form or application.

Once you have the updated or verified passport, now is the time to complete the Online Non-immigrant Visa Application, Form DS-160. The work is not done yet; there are other things to keep in mind, and some of them are written below; please have a look:

Remember facts while filling out a form;

  • All the questions are necessary to be answered on the application form.
  • If your answer is "none" to any available question, write "none." (You cannot leave blank) .
  • If you enter incorrect details, the request will be canceled or returned, and consequentially, you will have to take another interview appointment for the procedure.
  • This form is available to everyone at no additional cost. Thus, you do not require any intervention of any third party for the same process, as they may deceive you with their fraudulent deliveries.

Procedure 3: Present the Required Documents.

The third procedure to initiate the visa request to the US is through amalgamating the necessary documents, and some of the points are written below; please have a look:

  • Passport
  • DS-160 Confirmation Page
  • 2×2 inch (5×5 cm) photo taken within the last 6 months, with a white background
  • For F, M, and J visa applicants only: I-20 or DS-2019 and proof of SEVIS.
  • For H, L, or R visa applicants only: I-797 Approval Notice

NOTE: For further identification or your qualification for a VISA to the US, the officials may also ask you to present some other relative documents, and some of them are highlighted below; please have a look:

  • Your ability to spend bucks on the trip.
  • Your intent to visit the US or the United States after your trip
  • The purpose of your journey.

Procedure 4: Schedule an Interview.

Then, you have to schedule a non-immigrant Visa (NIV) interview. For that, you need to keep all the details, including the confirmation number, etc., handy so you can present them to the official to validate your identity.

Procedure 5: Make the payment and Interview.

Once you schedule an interview, you must visit the embassy on the date and time of your appointment. There, you must show your identification and ensure you are bringing all the necessary documents.

During your Visa interview, your profile will be examined, including your intent or purpose of travel to the US. You only need to pay the appropriate visa fee to the officers.

Procedure 6: Collect your passport and VISA.

Once your application is examined and approved, you will receive an email to return to the Embassy and collect your passport and visa. Remember that you must never incur anything for travel arrangements before you get a visa in your possession.
